Dermaplaning
Let's Talk Dermaplaning...
Dermaplaning is a deep exfoliating treatment in which a surgical scalpel is used to gently remove any dead skin cells on the surface of the skin! It will also remove vellus hair on the face, also known as peach fuzz!
DERMAPLANING IS A TREATMENT WHICH IS USED IN THE BEAUTY INDUSTRY FOR EXFOLIATING. IT IS A SAFE AND SIMPLE TREATMENT, WHICH IS CARRIED OUT BY USING A SPECIALLY DESIGNED STERILIZED BLADE. THE BLADE IS USED IS A CONTROLLED SCRAPPING MOTION, APPLYING LIGHT FEATHERING STROKES TO ABRADE THE SURFACE OF THE SKIN. Why is dermaplaning a 'must have'?
With the build up of dead skin cells and vellus hair, it can make your complexion look dull. This build up can cause your skin to become flakey and can also cause breakouts due to blocked pores and hair folicles. Dermaplaning is a deep exfoliation which is essential for maintaining an even complexion and healthy glow!
Will my hair grow back darker and thicker?
NO!!!
Please do not worry about your hair growing back darker or thicker, it is impossible for this to happen! Dermaplaning only targets vellus hairs (peach fuzz) which is fine hair and hairs will only grow back the same size and colour as they were!
Who can have dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is suitable for all skin types, except for those with the following conditions:
ACNE
BLEEDINGG/CLOTTING DISORDERS
CANCER
TYPE 1 DIABETES
SEVERE PSORIASIS/ECZEMA ON THE FACE
ALLERGIES TO STAINLESS STEAL/METAL
ACCUTANE OR ISOTRETINION USE WITHIN THE LAST 12 MONTHS
BOTOX/FILLERS (LEAVE 14 DAYS)
CONJUNCTIVITS
EPILEPSY
HERPES SIMPLEX
HIGH LEVELS OF ASPRIN
USE OF RETINAL
How long does the results last and how often shall I keep this up?
Dermaplaning removes up to 3 weeks of dead skin cells so your results will last up to 4 weeks, meaning you will be glowing all month long!
Your skin will always be regenerating and therefor to maintain your glow we recommend Dermaplaning every 4 weeks!
Will my makeup apply better?
Always notice how your peach fuzz shows through more when you apply foundation and powder to your face? Well during dermaplaning we remove majority of these hairs, meaning your makeup will not stick to them and will apply smoothly straight onto your skin!
ALSO skincare products penetrate deeper into the skin after dermaplaning, meaning your prep for your makeup will be even better!
Do you have to have a course of treatments?
A course is not required for dermaplaning. Dermaplaning can be done as a one off treatment for special occasions etc. However if you would like to maintain that amazing glow then we recommend having a treatment every 4 weeks.
What Treatments do you offer?
